In what has been the worst kept secret in gaming history, Activision have confirmed that the next iteration of the Call of Duty franchise will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

With the help of various retail leaks (a Black Ops 2 poster and some game reservation cards), the revelation of the Black Ops 2 announcement may come as no surprise to many people, but for fans of Treyarch’s blockbuster series, this years title could prove to be the franchises biggest hit.

A release date of November 13 has also already been given along with some more leaked content in the form of the two images you can see below. The reveal trailer doesn’t give too much away other than we see the return of a familiar face and that (as predicted) the game will be set a number of years in the near future:
